Tip 1: Simplify

There’s nothing like moving to reveal all of the things we no longer need or use. If you have notice of your upcoming move, use time as your ally and start going through your closets, drawers, and garage to get rid of anything you don’t want to pack along with you.

Tip 2: Start Early

The more time you have to prepare for your move, the better! Start packing items you won’t need, such as holiday decor, seasonal clothing, and kitchenware you don’t use often. Getting your packing done in small increments will help alleviate your stress. Alternatively, you can hire a full-service moving company to pack your things for you.

Tip 3: Organization is Key

Packing boxes room by room based on where you will unload items is a huge time saver; doing so will ensure you won’t have to relocate items after you unpack your boxes. Label boxes with as much detail as you can so you can find the things you need quickly.

Tip 4: Packing Boxes

First and foremost, make sure you use the correct size box and don’t leave any space in your boxes. Use packing paper or bubble wrap to fill in any gaps you may have. Always put your heavier items at the bottom, and don’t overpack boxes; this will help them from breaking or potentially being dropped.
